Rotherham United’s game on Saturday at home to Wycombe Wanderers sees Neil Hair from Peterborough with the whistle, which is another new face in the middle at a Millers game.

After coming through the Peterborough and District Junior Alliance, the Peterborough League, the Peterborough Sunday Morning League and other regional leagues Neil started refereeing in the National League in 2016. The following season he found himself in the middle at Wembley for the Football Conference Play-Off when Boreham Wood took on Tranmere Rovers and was praised highly for his decision in the first minute to show a red card to Rovers’ Liam Ridehalgh for a two-footed challenge. He was promoted to the Football League in for the 2018/19 season.

In the nine games Neil has been in charge of this season he has shown twenty-three yellow cards and one red card.

Running the line at the New York Stadium on Saturday we have Matthew Jones and Wade Smith. The Fourth Official is Richard Bartlett.
